John Willinsky is the Khosla Family Professor at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education. In his new book, The Intellectual Properties of Learning: A Prehistory from Saint Jerome to John Locke, Willinsky provides a sweeping history of the learned book in the West over the last millennium and puts current debates over intellectual property into context.
