DESCRIPTION:In the more than 150 L’Arche communities around the world\, people with and without intellectual disabilities share life together as friends. The spiritual vision of L’Arche\, first articulated by founder Jean Vanier in 1964\, is grounded in the celebration of each person’s unique gifts\, the recognition of human vulnerability\, and the transformative potential of mutual encounter\, as we journey toward “becoming human.” Lisa Cataldo will be joined by members of the L’Arche Long Island community to talk about L’Arche’s mission to be a sign of hope in the world. \nLight refreshments will be served.
