DESCRIPTION:This professional licensing course: on New York state identification and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment course is being offered to Fordham students for $25. The course covers important information professionals who are mandated to report suspected child abuse and neglect need to know\, including: \n\nDefinitions of abuse and neglect\nEmotional indicators of abuse and neglect\nHow to report suspected cases\nThe family court system and its relationship to investigations of abuse and neglect\nBehavioral indicators of abuse and neglect\nFamily dynamics in abusing and neglecting families\nThe child protective services system investigation\n\nRegistration is limited to 45 people. \nNo phone registrations will be accepted. Email JoAnne McMahon at ajomcmahon@fordham.edu for the registration form and to ask any questions you may have. \nPlease mail your registration form and a check made payable to Fordham University to:\nChildren FIRST\, Fordham University\n400 Westchester Avenue Room G07\nWest Harrison\, NY 10604. \nConfirmation will be sent via email upon receipt of registration form. \nThis course is required for any professional who is or who plans to be licensed by the New York State Department of Education.
