DESCRIPTION:Join fellow Jesuit-educated alumni for a day of service during National Volunteer Month! \nFordham’s Young Alumni Committee is partnering with local nonprofit the Bronx is Blooming. Join us as current students and alumni from all 28 Jesuit colleges and universities give back to the NYC community. \nVolunteers are encouraged to travel independently to the work site via public transit or other means\, but a limited number of seats will be available on Ram Van shuttles from Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus (113 W. 60th St.). Work will include park maintenance tasks such as gardening\, cleanup\, erosion control\, and painting.

DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow young alumni for a day of service in NYC! \nWhat’s the service project?\nXavier Mission strives for a future where all people\, regardless of economic status\, are treated with dignity and respect and are given the opportunity to realize their goals. Young alumni volunteers will assist with their afternoon meal service\, where they will be performing tasks such as: \n\nPutting hot meal items (entrée\, bread\, juice\, coffee\, dessert\, etc.) on trays\nWorking at food stations giving out extras/sides (coffee\, bread\, water\, etc.)\nWashing\, rinsing\, and drying trays\nCleaning the tables and chairs and sweeping the floors\n\nLearn more about Xavier Mission. \nIf you have an idea for a future service project\, let us know!

Enjoy a festive happy hour\, reconnect with classmates in NYC\, mingle with alumni from other Jesuit schools\, and help out the city’s underprivileged children. \nIn the spirit of the season\, we will be partnering with the Pajama Program\, founded by Genevieve Piturro (Fordham ’86)\, to host a pajama drive for children in need. The scarcity of this type of clothing is a huge need in our city and it often goes unnoticed. Bring a donation of new\, unwrapped pajamas! \nAdmission includes heavy appetizers and one free drink ticket. Guests who bring a donation will receive an additional free drink ticket.
