Among the numerous awards and accolades Lidia has earned are seven James Beard Awards (Outstanding Chef\, Television Food Show\, Best Chefs in America\, Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America\, Specials 2016\, 2017\, and 2018)\, and two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Culinary Host (2013 and 2018). \nAbout Stephen Katsouros\, S.J. \nA member of the United States Northeast Province of the Society of Jesus\, Steve Katsouros\, S.J.\, is the founding dean and executive director of Arrupe College at Loyola University Chicago. Arrupe is a two-year college at Loyola’s Water Tower Campus that continues the Jesuit tradition of offering a rigorous liberal arts education to a diverse population\, many of whom are the first in their family to pursue higher education. Arrupe College has graduated two classes since opening in 2015. Prior to arriving in Chicago\, Father Katsouros served as the director of the Institute for Catholic Educational Leadership and associate dean of the School of Education at the University of San Francisco. From 2002 until 2011\, Father Katsouros was president of Loyola\, a coed Jesuit high school in New York City. His doctorate\, from Columbia University Teachers College\, is in organizational leadership; his research interests are leadership\, governance\, and institutional performance. He has worked as a service program director\, dean of students\, and advancement director. Father Katsouros counseled runaways at Covenant House in Times Square\, taught at the first Nativity-model school on Manhattan’s Lower East Side\, and co-founded another Nativity school in Harlem. He was ordained in 1998. Currently\, Father Katsouros is a trustee on the boards of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School\, Chicago; Regis University\, Denver; Saint Mary’s College\, South Bend\, Indiana; and Sacred Heart Schools\, Chicago. He delivered the Cardinal Bernardin lecture at Georgetown University in March 2017. His book about the launch of Arrupe College\, Come to Believe: How the Jesuits are Reinventing Education (Again)\, was published by Orbis Press in June 2017. \n

Dean Rapaccioli will explore Alemany’s insights on holistic leadership. Alemany\, named to the “Most Powerful Woman in Banking” list by American Banker\, will share her perspective on strategic planning\, developing resilience\, and the importance of culture in driving the turnaround of CIT. \nEllen R. Alemany is chairwoman and CEO of CIT Group and chairwoman and CEO of CIT’s bank subsidiary.  She was named CEO in April 2016\, became chairwoman in May 2016\, and is leading CIT’s evolution as a leading national bank that empowers businesses and personal savers. \nAlemany formerly headed the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Americas\, the management structure that oversees RBS’ businesses in the Americas. She also served as chair and CEO for RBS Citizens Financial Group Inc. Prior to RBS\, she served as CEO for Global Transaction Services at Citigroup. Alemany held a number of senior positions during her tenure at Citigroup\, including executive vice president for commercial business and president and CEO of CitiCapital. She also held a number of executive positions in Citigroup’s Global Corporate Bank\, including customer group executive of North American markets; global industry head of media and communications; U.S. industry head of consumer products; and customer group executive for the Global Relationship Bank in Europe\, based in London. \nAlemany received her M.B.A. in finance from Fordham University. She serves on the boards of Fidelity National Information Services Inc.\, the Center for Discovery\, Operation HOPE\, and the Partnership for New York City. SUMMARY:Talk on Climate Change Risk Management with Jan Dash\, Ph.D.
DESCRIPTION:Gabelli School of Business welcomes Jan Dash. Ph.D. Dash is editor for the forthcoming World Scientific Encyclopedia of Climate Change: Finance\, Economics and Policy. The second edition of his book has a chapter on climate change risk management\, and Dash is a matchmaker for the Climate Science Rapid Response Team. He is the editor of the Climate Portal\, and did the math behind the Bloomberg Climate Clock. Dash is also lead climate advisor to the NGO Committee on Sustainable Development–NY and wrote the “one-liner” responses to climate contrarian fallacies. He spoke on a panel at the Paris Climate Conference. \nDash has a Ph.D. in physics\, was Directeur de Recherche at the Centre de Physique Théorique in Marseille\, France\, and published over 60 scientific research papers. Subsequently\, he worked for 25 years managing Ph.D. quant groups and performing quantitative finance and risk management at major firms. He was a visiting research scholar at Fordham University and adjunct professor at the Courant Institute\, NYU.
