Morrison’s hilarious take on this rarely produced Ibsen drama questions our modern conventions of love and marriage. How do you choose between stability and passion? In her work\, Mona Mansour parallels a family plunging forward\, while on the precipice of financial collapse\, with the brazen pioneers that roamed the American countryside some 200 years before in search of their own American Dream… \nThe romanticism and immortalization of the pioneer grit in Mom’s stories (in the play) have become their own means of sustenance. They feed her beliefs and her unrelenting optimism\, fully endorsed by a version of American history that was heavily edited. \nAs we all know\, history tends to repeat itself leaving mom and her family to relive the harrowing experience of the determined pioneers who learned the hard way that big dreams and good intentions do not always lead to gold. This play makes us examine where we come from\, what we feel entitled to\, and the stories that inform who we are as Americans. \nRESERVATIONS\nEmail: fclcboxoffice@gmail.com\nPhone: 212-636-6340\nBox Office Hours: Monday-Friday\, 1-5:30pm\, and 1 hour before the performance.\nWhen emailing or leaving a message\, please provide your name\, the date of the show you wish to attend\, and the number and type of desired tickets. \nTICKET PRICES\n*CASH ONLY*\nGeneral Admission: $15\nFordham Faculty\, Alumni\, Staff: $10\nStudents* and Senior Citizens: $5\nFordham Theater Majors/Minors: FREE\n*must have valid I.D. \nLOCATION\nPope Auditorium\nFordham University At Lincoln Center\n113 West 60th St.\nNew York NY 10023\n(Take the ABCD or 1 to Columbus Circle) URL:https://now.fordham.edu/event/join-us-journey-way-west-opens-wednesday-118/2017-11-08/ LOCATION:Pope Auditorium\, Lowenstein Center\, Lincoln Center Campus 113 W 60th St\, New York\, NY\, 10023\, United States CATEGORIES:Arts at Fordham ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://now.fordham.edu/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/waywestpostcard.jpg ORGANIZER;CN="Carla Jackson":MAILTO:carlaj.fordham@gmail.com GEO:40.7708109;-73.9851512 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=Pope Auditorium Lowenstein Center Lincoln Center Campus 113 W 60th St New York NY 10023 United States;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=Lowenstein Center\, Lincoln Center Campus 113 W 60th St:geo:-73.9851512,40.7708109 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20170303T170000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20170311T183000 DTSTAMP:20250428T203702 CREATED:20170213T204139Z LAST-MODIFIED:20170213T204139Z UID:10005903-1488560400-1489257000@now.fordham.edu SUMMARY:Redlining: Past\, Present...Future?"
