SUMMARY:Responsible Business Center Annual Sustainable Clothing Drive
DESCRIPTION:Donate to the Gabelli Clothing Exchange. The exchange is designed for students to swap clothing that they no longer wear for something from someone else’s wardrobe. Alumni are encouraged to bring gently used clothing\, especially business casual and winter clothing\, to the Student Success Center from now through Friday\, April 4. Your donations can provide students with attire to wear to interviews or help an international student build their cold-weather wardrobe. Collection bins will be available for donations in suite 126 of 140 West 62nd Street. Please email Kate Kennon at kkennon@fordham.edu with questions. \nAbout the Drive\nIn 2023\, the Responsible Business Center and the Student Success Center introduced a fall and spring clothing exchange as part of its mission to help Gabelli School business students take part in and understand circular fashion\, an important aspect of sustainability and engagement. In its simplest form\, a clothing exchange is a gathering of people who swap clothing they no longer wear for something from someone else’s wardrobe.

SUMMARY:Lunchtime Yoga with Jenny
DESCRIPTION:Every weekday—except University holidays—faculty and staff are invited for a free lunchtime yoga session with yoga instructor Jenny Mendez.\n\nOn Mondays\, she teaches a class at Lincoln Center in McMahon Hall Studio\, Room 208. \nOn Tuesdays and Thursdays\, she teaches a class at Rose Hill at Rose Fit Studio in the McShane Center. \nAnd on Wednesdays and Fridays she teaches a virtual yoga class. The first 30 minutes are dedicated to a more strenuous Yoga Sculpt session and the last 30 minutes are devoted to traditional yoga and breathing. \nBe sure to visit the HR calendar of events to ensure all sessions are offered in a given week and to register for the Zoom sessions. Mats are available at Lincoln Center and Rose Hill if you forget to bring one.

DESCRIPTION:Dr. Graciela Chichilnisky is an economics faculty at Columbia University. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California. She has published in many journals and is a member of several organizations where she intervenes in climate issues and intellectual property rights. She authored many books\, including The Economics of Climate Change\, and co-authored the Handbook of the Economics of Climate Change (the most recent book). Her current research interest is in the Carbone market.

DESCRIPTION:Considered the most influential feature-length anime film ever made\, Akira has had an extraordinary impact on popular culture and effectively advanced anime and Japanese popular culture worldwide. The film unflinchingly takes on challenging topics pertaining to political corruption\, social unrest\, the dangers of unchecked power\, and the misuse of technology\, as well as themes of individuals exploring identity\, power\, friendship\, and the effects of their decisions. Akira powerfully demonstrated the potential of animation to address complicated and mature themes and became a cultural phenomenon\, inspiring countless films and anime for almost four decades after its release. \nThe event will include the film screening itself and an opportunity to hear from faculty and staff about the challenging civic and societal topics that Akira raises. Pizza will be available for attendees.
